The next time you are in the market for buying running shoes, shirts, socks, etc., look for an upcoming road race. Before large 10 miler or marathon races, race sponsors will have a day or two of festivals where racers pick up their race packets and can get big discounts on clothes. The great news about this is that these festivals are open to everyone, participant or not. Inside, you will find tremendous deals on brand name gear. Do a Google search on "10 mile races" or "marathons" and see if one is coming to your city soon. The day or two before the race, organizers will host a variety of athletic-oriented retailers where you can shop till you drop.
